Abstract : It is planned to develop a more compact ultra-wideband (UWB) patch antenna employing meta-materials. The total size is reduced, and the simulated impedance bandwidth operates from 3.4 to 9.1 GHz for a single-slot antenna, with the bandwidth improved (3.04 to 14.35 GHz) with an S-parameter of less than -10 dB by etching another slot in the patch and using CSRR instead of wire in the back of the ground plane. These two antennas have a bandwidth of 5.7GHz and 11.33GHz, respectively. Both substantial horizontal radiation and practical properties have been observed. As a result, these antennas could have some specific applications in the future for UWB wireless communications..

Abstract :

In general, meat processing in Indonesia is undertaken in various ways and often uses excessive heat which can lead to the formation of benzo (a) pyrene (BaP) compound that can harm public health. The aim of this study was to reduce the content of BaP in grilled buffalo meat by treating different types of meat and grilling time compared to buffalo meat without marinating. This study was conducted using a factorial randomized block design with 2 factors and 3 replications: (1) type of meat; buffalo and beef combined with marinade, (2) grilling time; 10, 20, 30 minutes. Marinated meat samples had a higher antioxidant capacity than unmarinated meat samples. Grilling time affected the level of BaP content produced. This study indicated that samples of marinated buffalo meat had lower BaP content than samples of marinated beef and unmarinated buffalo meat. Meanwhile, the increase in the duration of grilling led to an increase in the content of BaP in both types of meat. The conclusion of this study is that the use of the marinade in buffalo meat and grilling time of 10 minutes can inhibit the formation of the highest BaP compound in grilled buffalo meat.

The challenge is to build the most energy-efficient vehicle. It seeks to transform the way mobility is viewed by allowing the use of alternative fuels, including electric or hybrid engines [1]. Abstract : Sayung District, which is located in the Demak Regency of Central Java Province, has been experiencing the shorelines and land use changes due to erosion and sedimentation process. The present study aims to analyze the changes that occurred during the periods of 2007-2011 and 2011-2017, to study the differences in shorelines due to erosion and sedimentation, and how the changes in coastline affect the landuse. The image data used was obtained from Landsat 5 and Landsat 8. The method of processing image data included a geometric correction, radiometric correction, cropping, digitation on-screen and image classification—spatial data analysis using the overlay method. Field observations were carried out in July-August 2017 in the coastal area of Sayung District. The results of the study show that the area of erosion changed from 365.64 ha in 2007-2011 to 359.01 ha in 2011-2017 and the area of sedimentation changed from 14.82 ha in 2007-2011 to 56.32 ha in 2011-2017. Based on the image classification, Sayung is composed of eight types of land uses: inundation, industries, dry land, sea, mangroves, settlements, ponds, and land vegetation. The most significant land-use change during 2007-2011 occurred in the settlement land. From the initially 1103.85 ha, 339.84 ha of the settlement land became inundated land. During 2011-2017, 435.13 ha of the originally inundated land turned into fishponds. Abstract : DGAT1 (Diacylglycerol Acyltransferasal1) gene contributes to fatty acid regulation and considered as a potential candidate gene for meat quality. This study aimed to explore the polymorphism of the DGAT1 gene in Indonesian sheep and its association with carcass weight, meat quality, and retail cuts. A total sample of sheep used 169 rams of 10-12 months old from unrelated family and different farms consisted 20 Garut sheep (GS), 35 Compass Agrinak sheep (CAS), 36 Barbados cross sheep (BCS), 20 Javanese fat-tailed (JFT), 17 Javanese thin-tailed (JTT), and 41 Garut composite sheep (GCS). Polymorphism of the DGAT1 gene were identified using Polymerase Chain Reaction-Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) with AluI restriction enzyme. The results of identification found two genotypes namely CC dan CT in GS, JFS, and JTT indicate that polymorphism in the DGAT1 gene. This polymorphism is associated (P<0.05) with characteristics and retail cuts of carcass including the weight of carcass, the weight of breastbone, and weight of subcutaneous breast fat. CC genotype had higher weight in characteristic and retail cuts of carcass than the CT genotype. However, the mutation of DGAT1 was not significantly associated (P>0.05) with meat quality. It could be concluded that polymorphism of DGAT1 contributed to characteristic and retail cuts of the carcass in sheep..
