Abstract : Chalcones provide an easy way into many heterocyclic systems containing oxygen and nitrogen. As a result, an attempt is made to synthesis chalcones from 3-acetylpyridine by Claisen-Schmidt condensation with either aromatic or heteroaromatic aldehyde. To form (A1, A2, A3). The resulting chalcones after purification and characterization by physical and spectral methods have been successfully converted into pyrazole by reaction with hydrazine hydrate to form (A4,A5,A6). The synthesized test compounds were evaluated for various pharmacological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial activities. Abstract : The maintenance and time-to-time analysis of the power transformers are essential to maintain the reliability of the supply. Unfortunately, the operating power transformer is constantly subjected to various electrical and thermal stresses, leading to mineral oil and cellulose paper insulation degradation. Consequently, the decomposition of mineral oil gives rise to different gases that dissolve in the oil itself. These gases indicate various incipient faults, which, if neglected, lead to catastrophic failure of the transformer. Therefore, in this proposed work, the well-acclaimed dissolved gas analysis (DGA) method is used to diagnose the transformer. Innumerable techniques were proposed in the past literature, yet the diagnosis wavers and no single method could provide an unambiguous diagnosis. Besides, a blend of produced gases results in inaccurate diagnosis when gas ratio methods are utilized. This work proposes a fuzzy-based DGA approach to harness the limitations and homogenize the diagnosis. Mainly, this work has been focused on the fuzzy-based IEC ratio method to interpret the incipient faults as the IEC ratio method persuasively isolates disparate incipient faults. DGA results of various transformers of different ratings and life span are used to build the model. Abstract : The current work investigates the potential use of complex clay deposits for geopolymer production. The used deposits, as well as the final product, were both characterized. The results indicated a higher plasticity limit, bulk density, and silica content for the studied clay deposit than the pure de-posits due to multiple clay minerals. The maximum given compressive strength was 8.69 MPa at a 1.5 ratio of Na2SiO3/NaOH, with water absorption of about 7%. The mineralogical and microstruc-tural analysis of the product reveals the formation of the hydroxysodalite phase and gel phase, with high amounts of unreacted components. As a result, it is strongly advised to utilize complex clay deposits to reduce the amount of aluminosilicate materials needed in geopolymer production..

Abstract : Vast application of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) in industrial sector and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) sectors needs research attention to improve its performance, accurate rotor position estimation is one of the important feature in switched reluctance motor which leads to high performance operation, the position of the rotor usually sensed by rotor position sensor earlier, but it posses many problems such as additional cost, alignment problems, size etc, development of sensorless control implementation overcomes these problems, In this paper, artificial bits of intelligence such as Fuzzy and ANFIS techniques is implemented in the proposed sensorless control techniques, SRM control parameters for a given torque, command/rotor speed and bus voltage are analyzed and consider as inputs for the controllers, the effectiveness of the developed techniques is verified through simulation and finally a comparison is presented between without and with sensor in conjunction with the two proposed soft computing approach..

Abstract : This study aims to confirm the ability of the SP1 isolate from Poring hot spring, Sabah, Malaysia, to degrade palm kernel cake (PKC). To achieve this, crude enzymes (CE) of this isolate was collected from cell-free supernatant following a 24-hour incubation at 50°C. The CE's protein content was determined to be 92.20 ± 5.74 mg/L culture. Further hydrolysis of PKC by CE indicated a reduction in both cellulose and hemicellulose contents of PKC, up to a 6-hour reaction time. This result was accompanied by an increase in reducing sugar concentration, confirming that CE degrades hemicellulose and cellulose to produce reducing sugars. It indicates that the CE contained a mixture of enzymes that worked on both substrates. The hydrolysis of PKC by CE of SP1 isolate was optimal at 60°C and pH 6.0. Additionally, the activity was enhanced by Tween 80 up to 0.2%. These findings suggest that the SP1 isolate has potential for use in PKC degradation. However, further studies on the enzymatic degradation process using purified enzymes are needed..
