Abstract : Indonesian leaffish (Pristolepis grootii) is one of Indonesia's endemic fish species that has the potential to be cultivated. The unavailability of quality seeds is a main obstacle in P. grooti farming. This study aimed to induce gonadal maturation of P. grootii. A total of 95 females (100.81 ± 0.78 g), reared in 15 aquaria (n=9), fed with a commercial pellet, and injected twice on the 7th and 14th day.with PMSG 10 IU.kg-1 of BW (T1), PMSG 10 + LHRHa 50 g.kg-1 of BW (T2), PMSG 20 (T3), PMSG 20 + LHRHa 50 (T4), and control (T5). Blood samples were collected from the caudal vein at 0, 30, and 60 days post-injection. The results showed that P grootii injected with a combination PMSG 20 + LHRHa 50 had the highest estradiol 17β (905.46±83.09 ρg.ml-1), total cholesterol (383.78±40.57 mg.dL-1), GSI (1.68±0.12 %), fecundity (2,946±174.72 egg.fish-1), and oocyte diameter (922.64±11.54 µm). The combination of PMSG 20 IU.kg-1 of BW + LHRHa 50 g. kg-1 of BW was the best treatment for gonadal maturation of P. grootii.. Full article
Abstract : In current study, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ABAQUS software was performed to evaluate the behaviour of RC (Reinforced Concrete) beams. The current study concentrates on behaviour of beams at elevated temperature. Concrete is an important material used in construction field. In the current study, another alternative material is introduced for preparing concrete. Electric Arc furnace Slag (EAFS) is used for preparing concrete by partially replacing conventional coarse aggregate (CCA). The replacement of CCA using EAFS improves the material property of concrete and also the performance of the modified concrete which gives better results compared with concrete with CCA. The results of numerical study consist of load-deflection and stress-strain relation for both the type of concretes. Final result shows the inelastic non-linear behaviour of concrete. The current analysis mainly concentrates on the beams tested at three temperature levels of normal, 500 and 800°C of both conventional and modified concrete. The comparative study shows that EAFS concrete behaves almost the same as conventional concrete at normal and elevated temperature.. Full article
Abstract : Nurse scheduling is the task that helps in assigning nurses to the particular shift for a specific room. Nowadays, as the medical field is growing widely in a rapid manner there are few challenges faced in it. One of them would be the scheduling of work to specific people at the specific time because in hospital people's presence is required for all 24 hours. Among those one of the categories we are concentrating is Nurse's. Assigning shift for each of them and also fulfilling both hospitals and the nurse's requirement would be a major challenge. Sometimes when this scheduling is done manually it might end up in a situation wherein there might be violation of the hospital criterias or might not be able to fulfill some other person's (nurse) request. So this Nurse scheduling will help to clear out such problems. Nurse scheduling helps in assigning nurses to the shifts. This includes 3 nurses in 3 shifts per day that is morning, afternoon and night shift respectively. The scheduling of shifts is done each day as per the EMTL table. One among 3 nurses can have 1 requirement each week. And only one among 3 nurses can apply for a request for a requirement on that particular day.. Full article
Abstract : A series of new pyrazole-containing compounds 3a-c were synthesized from chalcone derivatives 2a-c with an excess of hydrazine hydrate under reflux in acetic acid. The structure of the produced compounds was established by Melting point, TLC, FT-IR spectroscopy, and 1H-NMR. The target compounds (3-acetylcoumarin, 2a, 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b, 3c & Pivaloylampicillin) underwent a docking procedure Ampicillin-CTX-M-15. The orthosteric target was shown to bind to every hit. (Active) location of the enzyme, which might signify a competitive inhibition mechanism. The cytotoxic effect of compound 3b against MCF-7 cells was studied. The antiproliferative activity of compound 3b was tested by studying its ability to inhibit cell proliferation. The results demonstrated the ability of compound 3b to make morphological changes in breast cancer cell lines after being treated with compound 3b.. Full article
Abstract : Wave data is an essential element in coastal disaster risk studies. The dimensions and structural types of seawalls and breakwaters on the coast depend on these elements. Extreme storm surges can cause significant damage to coastal areas. In wave theory, the wind can produce waves. The bigger the wind, the stronger the waves. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the wind is a part of the climate element that has the potential to change along with climate change. This paper proposes a new approach to predict future waves based on climate change. The technique contains slope correlation and regression analysis. The slope correlation is proposed in this paper to improve the performance of the Pearson Correlation for such a particular purpose. This study uses the Ampenan coastal area to demonstrate the proposed approach. This research implements wind data from the Selaparang Airport Station to represent the coastal winds in Ampenan, Indonesia, and climate change data from the IPCC. The recorded wind is from 1988 to 2020, and the climate change data is from 1988 to 2100. Selaparang Airport Station is the closest wind station to Ampenan beach. The distance between the Selaparang station and the Ampenan beach is less than ten kilometers. The result of the demonstration showed an increase in the average and minimum wind speed values. The average increase is about 3 knots from 1990 to 2100. However, the maximum value of wind speed remains the same until 2100. In addition, the standard deviation of wind speed gradually decreases in the future.. Full article
